Guestbook

Stayed here for a winter break in December and glad we did. Great location with a short walk down to the coast. The cottage itself is very well presented and has everything you need during your stay. The owners have done a great job. The location lends itself to long walks along the south west coast path and would recommend the Pack O Cards Inn if you can't be bothered to cook after the walk. I will certainly look to come back as we all had a great week.

Justin Anstead,

Stayed at Sea Vista for a quick weekend break. Ruth and Peter’s holiday home is absolutely stunning. The Pack of Cards is a good place for a meal, food fantastic. Went for a walk down to the beach which took all of 5 minutes to get there. We took the Grandchildren who had a brilliant time but were not happy when it was time to leave.

Tracy Dowling,

This our third time staying at Sea Vista, and I really can't rate it highly enough. Absolutely wonderful holiday home, has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Location is fantastic, only a few minutes walk into the village, and the sea. Visit number four is already booked for next year!

Chris, Maltby,

We had a nice holiday at Sea Vista, staying 6 nights. The house is tucked away in a quiet spot, sunny all day with a huge garden. Yet only a few minutes walk to the sea. Here there’s a few lovely gift shops, fabulous bakery, general store and kayak/sup hire stores. We’d wander down most nights for an ice cream and sit by the beach. The house is great. A double and a twin room downstairs with a shower room, and a double upstairs with a bathroom and second lounge. Upstairs is lovely. Lounge is large and airy with a nice big tv with Netflix. Kitchen is the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen. More than enough crockery for a dozen people or more, plus every conceivable ‘extra’ you could think of (bag clips, foil, casserole dishes, childrens cutlery, plastic tableware - you name it, they supply it!). In addition there are loads of store cupboard things like vinegar, herbs, oil, jam - again you name it, it’s there! We had no idea it would be so well stocked so we took all our own stuff but for people who may have forgotten something, it would be a godsend. In the porch there are bodyboards, cold box, iron, pegs, fold up beach chairs…. We were very lucky with the weather so we were out most days. Ilfracombe sea front and harbour area is nice, Woolacombe beach is lovely. I’d recommend The Pack of Cards in Combe Martin for a meal - great food and superb beer garden by the brook. About 15 mins walk. The Black and White fish n chip shop is great but I suggest going after 6:30 to avoid the long queue. The house is in a very quiet spot which is what we like, large garden would be appealing for children. Sea Vista has quality furniture, flooring and kitchen.

Dawn, Lichfield,

A central yet quiet location, close to beach and amenities with ample outside space which our kids thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for the stay!

Timothy, Wiltshire,

Thanks Ruth for being a fantastic host. You are very prompt in your replies and flexible and allowed us to stay on an extra day at a reduced price, we appreciate it. The property was fantastic both inside and outside. We thoroughly enjoyed woolacombe beach which was a 20 min drive away. We would definitely come back in the future.

Satya, Burton,

Ruth is a fabulous host and her holiday home is absolutely beautiful! Quick response and happy to help. We stayed for 7 nights over the May half term / Queen's Jubilee week with our 10 and 6 year olds. So much space in the house and out in the garden. I loved sitting on the front bench with a cup of tea at the end of every day basking in the glorious sun. The hosepipe outside, washing machine (for spinning wet clothes), and clothes airer are godsend as we spent so much time paddleboarding, kayaking, and bodyboarding. Ruth's house is less than 5 minutes walk to one of the most gorgeous bays of Combe Martin. The view from the top of the hill is so special, definitely worth the few minutes hike up. The bay is perfect for water sports and the rock pools are great fun for young children. Great little village and very happy locals. We will be back!!

Amie, Finchampstead,

We had a super time at Combe Martin - the house was great and so close to the beach and lovely walks. Ruth was really responsive and helpful 😊

Anne, England,

Great week at Sea Vista Everything it said it was.

John, Botswana,

Lovely property in a fantastic location with great hosts

Chris, Newquay,

Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely spot for touring North Devon and lovely walks locally. Well equipped kitchen and very thoughtful of host to provide some lovely welcome treats and use of essential ingredients in the kitchen. We had a wonderful stay !

Li Yen, Berkshire,

This is an immaculately clean, perfectly positioned home, with so much space to enjoy both inside and out. Extremely well equipped with everything you could need, as well as some basic cupboard essentials and arrival pack of Prosecco and chocolates! We used the body boards at Woolacome, kayak hire from the village and had some great days out in Ilfracombe and Clovelley as well as the Valley of the Rocks. If you have time, the small local museum is worth a visit, as it really explains how the village has evolved with time. It is run by some lovely volunteers. And definitely watch the sunset if you can from the Focsle Inn overlooking the harbour. Great place to sit with a cider at the end of a busy day.

Louise, Boltonsborough,

We had fabulous week at Sea Vista, it was perfect for our family of four with 2 young children. The house had everything we needed, big garden to play in and the short walk to the beach was brilliant. The beach itself was great for young children at both high and low tide. Ruth was really responsive to any questions we had. Would highly recommend.

Cath, Cheshire,

Had a great week at Sea Vista. The facilities were outstanding including a large garden for the grandchildren to run around in. It was also lovely to be within walking distance of the beach at Combe Martin along a quiet path. The property had everything that we required and to top it all off we also had brilliant sunny weather for the whole week.

Brian, England,

What a truly wonderful time we’ve had at Sea Vista. Such a beautiful cottage, homely and with lots of home from home touches. In the perfect location for coastal walks, beach days and relaxing. The cottage is in a very quiet location, the birds are the noisiest residents!

Jacqui, UK,

An ideal spot, just a few minutes walk to the sea front, and beside the public footpath up onto the hills. The house itself is very peaceful, comfortable, clean, well-equipped - exactly right for our young children. Highly recommend.

Clare, London,

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sea Vista. A beautiful holiday home, very modern, spacious, and well equipped, everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The location is fabulous, only a few mins walk from village shops, cafes and the beach. A very peaceful location, with great views from the upstairs cosy living room towards the sea. Hope to return here soon!

Christopher, Maltby,

2 Adults and 3 young boys…we just had an absolutely brilliant week at Sea Vista. Ruth & Peter have clearly spent a lot of time and effort in making the house perfect for guests. It’s modern, it’s peaceful, it’s a 2min walk to the beach and the garden is great for kids. We watched some amazing sunsets over the bay from the top window…10/10, would highly recommend. We will definitely return.

Oli, Borley,

Had a lovely family short break here. The house was warm, clean and quiet and we enjoyed some blustery seaside walks followed by board games and films in the evening. Easy check in, very quick responses to my questions before our stay.

Kate, Bath,

We loved our stay at Ruth's place. Accomodation clean and tidy and very well equipped. Netflix tv a real bonus.Really good location 5 minute walk to town centre and beach. Great hosts easy to contact and made check in easy. Hopefully return in the future.

Matthew, Dudley,

We had a lovely time at Ruth's place in Combe Martin. What a great spot - tucked away but so close to everything. The house was immaculate and really well equipped. Great walking territory. Ate at both the Dolphin and Pack o Cards and got fish and chips from the Black and White - all excellent. Highly recommend! Thanks Ruth!

Zilla, Guildford,

I can't recommend this beautiful house highly enough. Its located so close to all the local shops and beach, it quiet, stylish and spotless. If you want to come to Combe Martin don't look anywhere else. Fabulous experience.

James, Wooburn Green,

One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in. Very nice interior, easy to communicate with Ruth, the location is perfect for walks, access to the beach and local amenities such as restaurants, pubs and shops. Despite being unlucky on the weather the house was perfect for its size, cleanliness and cosiness. Would highly recommend to anyone! Thanks.

Ollie, England,

This is a lovely house. The place is recently renovated so all modern appliances and furnishings. Super clean and can’t fault the space. It has everything you need. Located on a very quiet street, but only a moments walk from the high street. The local area is wonderful with the beach less than 5 mins walk, and nice pubs, cafes and restaurants all within short walk. We also did short drives to Ilfracombe and Woolacombe which were in very easy reach. We had our two toddlers, (1 & 3 years old) and the place was great for them. We would definitely stay again.

James, Herts,

Ruth's place was a light and roomy environment with three indoor socialising spaces - a delightful kitchen equipped with Alexa to entertain our son during mealtimes, a living room with TV (including Netflix) and an upstairs sofa suite. It was very quiet during the evenings, and a five-minute walk to the beach and a cracking fish bar. A really nice space that helped us enjoy a superb mini-break taking in Heddon Valley, Lynmouth/Lynton and Exmoor Zoo.

James, High Wycombe,

What a great find! Our usual cottage was unavailable so we thought we'd try something different & couldn't be happier with Ruth's place. A beautiful house, spotless, warm & comfortable in a great setting. Tucked off the main street it is convenient for the village & sea front. It is light, airy & spacious & somewhere we will definitely return to. Ruth is a superb host & I highly recommend both her & her lovely home. Looking forward to our next trip.

Susan, Kettering,

Perfect destination, 5 min lovely stroll to spectacular Combe Martin beach, fab surf shops, bakeries, convenience stores. House so relaxing & peaceful with magnificent views in idyllic location. Everyone so friendly! Superb sunsets from balcony! Ensure a walk to hidden nearby gem of a beach (Broadsands) path to it is opposite signpost to Berrynarbor - look out for gates situated between two bus stops. Follow path round to left till you get to Sandy Cove hotel - take the rear path till you come to the steps down. Perfect find....thanks to Ruth & Peter for their kind hospitality and stunning home. Sam, Chris, & Frankie

Samantha, Birmingham,

Enjoyed our 8-night stay at Sea Vista. The house was clean and modern with everything you'd need plus a spacious garden and relaxing snug with great views out to sea. The house is ideally situated with a short walk to the main part of town and to the child-friendly beach with it's calm waters and rock pools. It's also just a short drive to explore the other delights of the North Devon coast.

Mark, London,

Ruth’s home is absolutely stunning. A close walk to the beach with shops nearby so we had no reason to use the car. The garden space is massive and was great for my little brothers to play a bit of football! As well as myself and my parents to sit out in the sun as it’s a beautiful suntrap! We was left plenty to get us through the week and Ruth was accommodating to what we may have needed and was helpful with any problems we had. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
